Victor called and needed help. He’d been laid off from work 19 months ago and had been searching for a new job. His unemployment benefits were about to run out, and his prayers were answered for his dream job on an off-shore Louisiana oil rig. At his employment physical, follow-up medical care and surgery were indicated, but his new employer would only hold the job for 30 days. Without any insurance, without much money, but with a new dream job waiting for him, Victor called Shepherd’s Hope. A Shepherd’s Hope case manager and community partner became involved after he was examined by a Shepherd’s Hope volunteer doctor. The outcome? Victor made it to Louisiana in time to begin his dream job.
