Cathy Benson
President
Cathy Benson has been serving as the President of Shepherd’s Hope since February of 2011 and brings more than two decades of experience in non-profit management, including executive leadership roles with Goodwill Industries and the American Diabetes Association. Most recently, Cathy served as President and CEO of the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation and then as Vice President of Field Operations at its national office. During her tenure with the Arthritis Foundation, her Chapter received two Excellence in Innovation Awards from the national office for evidence based wellness programs that were adopted nationwide. Cathy has an extensive background in strategic planning, staff and volunteer development, fundraising, and developing and sustaining comprehensive community partnerships.
Cathy has her BAAS in Medical Sociology from the University of Delaware and completed the Goodwill Industries International Executive Leadership Certification Program. Currently, she participates on numerous health care initiatives for vulnerable populations throughout the Greater Orlando area. She has also completed Leadership Orlando (Class 81), as well as The Bank of America Neighborhood Excellence Leadership Program.
She is a fitness enthusiast and is certified to teach several exercise programs. Cathy is married and shares four children with her husband, Chris.
