Christi Ashby is the editor and publisher of Orange Appeal, a magazine for women she founded in 2008 to create a sense of community and promote local women, their interests and non-profit organizations. Prior to that she developed Orlando Leisure and was the editor and publisher for nine years.
Christi is celebrating over 25 years as a publishing and media professional, having managed and operated more than 10 different national and regional publications. A proud graduate of the University of Florida College of Journalism, she was on the board of directors of the Florida Magazine Association for 12 years, serving twice as president of the organization.
Currently, she assists dozens of non-profit organizations and serves on the Board of Directors for Shepherd’s Hope, the Dr. P. Phillips Performing Arts Center Circle and the Florida Hospital’s Women’s Health Task Force. In addition to serving on the committee for the Famous Faces Masquerade Ball benefiting Shepherd’s Hope, Christi has also been a committee member this past year for the inaugural Spa Invitational to benefit Grace Medical Home, Fashion Funds the Cure (Pediatric Cancer Foundation), Runway to Hope, Harriett’s Favorite Things (Orlando Health’s Level One Trauma Center), Harriett’s Can Can (Jewish Family Services) and Purse Strings (Credibility for Women’s Financial Education Services).
Christi was awarded the 2011 Media Award from H.O.P.E., Women’s Executive Council Achievement Award and the Seminole State College Alumni of Distinction earlier this year. She is also an active member of the Central Florida Women’s League. Her most recent venture was the Orlando Women’s Conference, which was held in April of 2012.
Christi is married to her husband, Rob, and has two children, Nick and Kate.
