John D. Guarneri, M.D.

Dr. John Guarneri grew up in the New York area, attended Manhattan College and graduated with a B.S. degree in 1969.  The initial portion of his medical education was at the University of Bologna, Italy followed by attending New York Medical College where he received his M.D. degree in 1976.  His residency in obstetrics and gynecology was performed at St. Barnabas Medical Center from 1976 through 1980.  Dr. Guarneri has been in private practice in obstetrics and gynecology in Winter Park, Florida from 1980 through the present time, and is presently practicing only gynecology.  In the past he has been a board member of the St. Margaret Mary Elementary School and Bishop Moore High School.

Dr. Guarneri was Chief of Staff at Winter Park Memorial Hospital from 2001 through 2003. In addition, he served as a System Medical Staff Leader at Florida Hospital overseeing 2,200 physicians at seven campuses in the capacity of Secretary Treasurer 2004-2005, President Elect 2006-2007, President 2008-2009 and presently Past President beginning in 2010 and through 2012.  Dr. Guarneri established the physician driven Department of Health Care and Spirituality at Florida Hospital in August 2008.
